Deep Listening

Deep Listening, Rev. Melissa Carvill Ziemer: The skill of listening well is one that can’t be perfected, but it can be cultivated and honed. Join us this Sunday for a chance to reflect together on the spiritual practice of listening. We’ll draw inspiration from many sources, including trees and animals. This service will be created with all ages in mind and will begin at 10am at First Parish, Northfield and available by Zoom as well. To participate via Zoom, please send an e-mail to fpnorthfieldma@gmail.com for a link.

Resistance and Renewal

with Rev. Melissa Carvill Ziemer

In these challenging times, let’s pause to remember the forces that we want to resist that diminish our spirits and the way we would like to seek renewal in the summer days ahead. We will be celebrating our annual Flower Ceremony. Please bring a flower or a few with you to share during our service. If you have been thinking about becoming a member of First Parish, we’d love to formally welcome you this coming Sunday. Please reach out to us to let us know if you would like to be welcomed as a member.

Our Sunday service begins at 10 am at the church, corner of Parker and Main Streets in Northfield, and on Zoom. All are welcome. To participate via Zoom, please send an e-mail to fpnorthfieldma@gmail.com for a link.

This service concludes the 2023-2024 cycle of Sunday services for First Parish. The congregation continues through the summer of course, beginning with the *First Parish Tag Sale Fundraising Event* on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 9am to noon. Contact Lindsay McCarthy at thenewlindsay@hotmail.com, or text at 970-402-5063 for more information, to volunteer, or to contribute tag sale items.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols

Revs. Melissa and Evin Carvill Ziemer

with music from Ms. Ann Linge and Ms. Lynne Walker

Come hear the old stories, sing the familiar carols and light candles in the darkness. We will look for inspiration in sources ancient and modern as we affirm what the theologian Howard Thurman described as “the margin of hope.”  All are welcome at the church, corner of Parker and Main Streets, Northfield, Massachusetts for the 6:30 pm service on Christmas Eve.
